Thanks for the tips!

As I understand, the generic description in the modified 2.4 manual would be reused for 2.5; and since the basic theory remains the same in 2.5, only the description about how the GUI/controls are to be used would need to be changed in the 2.5 manual.

If anyone copies a page from the 2.4 manual now and edits it to make a 2.5 version, it will mean two forks are being edited simultaneously (equivalent of a version-conflict in code). Merging such changes would be difficult . because this is not plain text. Ideally the 2.5 branch should be blocked till the 2.4 manual matures.

@difference between "talk" and "discussion" pages:
I meant the difference between "talk" and "discussion" pages (as implemented here) is not clear to me. The blender wiki uses both types of pages: Some content pages have "talk" pages and other content pages have "discussion" pages. The link to the "talk page" is at the bottom of the content page, and the link to the "discussion page" is at the top of the content page. That's what made me think that these are different pages, meant for different purposes. The webmaster should make the wiki's structure consistent to remove this ambiguity.

@searching the past posts:
I wanted to search the mail archives, but the archives at http://lists.blender.org/pipermail/bf-docboard/ seem to be meant for plain browsing, and not for searching!

How should I do basic/advanced search?

Thanks in advance!

Regards,
Raindrops
