from what I see there, the "new toc" has a similar but different syntax.
I just tried (but still not saved) to mimic the EN toc, and it just works.

to me, something working is better than nothing at all, and there's 
always page history. Go. I'll do the same asap for IT pages, or others.
i guess maintainers are more busy to adapt the "new wiki manual" on 
sphinx-doc, and this stuff is not of particular interest/priority...
