Hi Emmanuel,
this mailinglist is in English, but fortunately I can read Dutch ;-)
Generally, the Matrox cards don't seem to have the best performance -
please see the list of supported videocards on
http://download.blender.org/documentation/html/appendix_videocards.html
. What you can try though is to update your OpenGL drivers. Blender
should benefit from that.

Hallo,
sinds gisteren ben ik aan de slag gegaan met Blender. Dit product heb ik
bij jullie via internet gekocht.
Het programma gebruik ik onder windows XP Home. Maar het is erg traag
binnen windows. elk menu wordt langzaam geladen en de muis is moeilijk
te volgen. Soms worden opdrachten uitgevoerd als ik slechts met de muis
over een menuitem beweeg zonder dat ik klik.
Mijn systeem is een intel P4 2,4Ghz met o.a. een harddisck van 40 Gb
192 mb geheugen, en een matrox G550 videokaart.
Is het normaal dat bovenstaande voorkomt ?
