[Bf-docboard] Special Text Characters

Hi

I was testing the instructions on how to generate Special Characters, in the
chapter on Text, but I can't seem to get it to work.

Can anyone advise me what I'm doing wrong, or have things changed since
v2.0?

I've tried this on Blender running on Mandrake Linux, and the MacOSX version
as well, but with no success.

Are the characters available in the built-in font, or do I need to load a
particular font? 

Has they keystroke sequence changed?
