Hi.

Should it be better to make the 'H' key work during dragging.
Currently the H-key cancels the dragging. But enabling this you
could start a drag and when you think you would like to have the
folded version press the H-key if the node connects release the
drag. Now pressing the H-key would unfold the node and everything
is the way you want it.

We should also check out the S-key to make it work better:
When a single node (or no node at all) is selected scale from
center of mouse pointer with an distance like we have during
proportional editing in the 3d view. We could also have this
option available during drag.

Just some thoughts.
drag&drop a node where I want it because the wires are too
close or the node is too big. Collapsing it solves this. I'm
not sure I like the idea of nodes being collapsed upon adding,
though. What if there was something else, like, when you drag
a node to move it, it auto collapses while you drag it, then
reverts to whatever state it was in when you let go of the
mouse button? Or maybe a keyboard shortcut for that kind of
behavior. I'm sure there's probably already a keyboard
shortcut for collapsing the nodes, which would make all this
discussion not relevant to my workflow. :)

small thumbnail node view? Photoshop and Nuke have similar

We should discuss the "auto collapse node feature".
It sounds like a workaround for a bigger subject:
Tree navigation.
Can someone put it on the wiki?

Hi Jeroen & Monique
Thanks a lot for your magic :) Btw, can we have hide
node preference (not hide preview) ? IMO it will
increase space in editor, also avoiding miss
attaching node.
So,the workaround when we add a new node, it will be
in hide mode. We can navigate it more easily and
attach it to any noodle. After that we can expand it
or use property panel to adjust the node.
Thanks and Cheers.
The node colors can be altered in the
