I've noticed some near-duplication of brushes 
<http://blender.stackexchange.com/questions/3643/what-is-the-difference-between-the-sculptdraw-brush-and-the-brush-tool#comment6256_3670> 
in various painting/sculpting modes, for example the /Brush/ and 
/SculptDraw/ brushes in sculpt mode.

Why is this? Does it have any practical use?
And is there a reason some very useful tools are not made into brushes 
by default, e.g. /simplify/?
