Hello, I added to the wiki page a link to  old proposal regarding 2.5 UI. 
I did an carefull analysis which is still valid - I will be glad if you read
it.

I am very thankfull for any work which is done in the direction of solving 
the issues we have with the UI, however I think still there could be put 
efforts into really optimizing UI by making more serious decisions.
