[Bf-committers] Patch for adding Remove Doubles functionality to Decimate modifier

Maybe it is possible to provide a separate "remove doubles" Modifier ?
This could help everywhere where we want doubles get removed in a 
non-destructive way.

For example such a Modifier might also help to remove duplicates created 
by the Solidify Modifier...
