[Bf-committers] Release 2.56a AHOY

Hi,

Yesterday I committed a bugfix:

All the code is in readfile.c doversion() and it is still in the place marked:
 /* put compatibility code here until next subversion bump */

If the version bump have been done then it would be good to move the
code after an appropriate version check.
