Hi,

I haven't checked on this visual appearance of this yet (not at home atm),
but just a few notes about this first.

Hmm... the main reason that this was aligned to those buttons was to show
the connection of that setting with the frame range. Otherwise, it'd look
more like a random button that maybe did something else.

Ahem! That menu was for the auto-keying mode used for the current scene,
which is the current default. The user-prefs version was really quite nasty,
and was really only used for initialising the scene one on new scenes
(unless the stupid toolsettings are still not saved yet). The timeline
header for now was the only place you could set this.
