Forget mixing blender with Maya,cause Maya don't have an blend import file.
Just improve the partical system in the next release - "JESUS"!!

Right. Not thinking clear. He of course needs the fcollada maya
plugin, which seems to be a problem, as even the core developers has
trouble building it on GNU/Linux. They also seem like a very closed
group, using only web forums for communication and no updated public
repository.
My only need is to export simple 2D curves so that a maya user can
import them. There is nothing but curves involved here;). Is collada
really the only way?. It seems very strange if that is the case.
