An explanation of stored 'EditSelections'  was posted
in this commit log from march 27

Several features now depend on storing the order in
which elements are selected. The commit I made today
was just an extension of this functionality to make it
a bit more useful/sane for the end user.
I probably should have been more clear in my commit
log about what the changes were with respect to DNA
and why, my apologies.
