Hi all,
Due to easter (and busy coding myself, ok!) we skipped last week. Below
you can find the minutes of meeting the week before.
Note: agenda for today will be getting the 2.33 Blender released! :)
1. Scons/make/msvc
- Michel mailed to this list the todo's for Scons. Anyone interested to
help just notify us.
http://www.blender.org/pipermail/bf-committers/2004-April/005627.html
- Ton mentions having a quick compile, without checking all
directories, nor doing all dependencies, would greatly help in adopting
scons!
2. Game engine
- JesterKing proposes to remove all key checking from blender reading,
which also should work for player and plugin
- test results are satisfying, except for slow physics performance still
- most build problems seem to be solved as well (Hos fixed Makefiles)
3. Current projects
- Ton committed new noise textures, will do AO shortly after
- Hos mentioned he included STL import for Blender
4. Blender package
IanWill proposes a package which includes some basic documentation on
Blender, at least a beginners introduction to survive the first steps.
He proposes to come with a first intro text.
5. Coding standards
Stiv mentioned he found several issues while housekeeping python code
in Blender. Time to reconfirm some rules for coding style again. Points
mentioned in the discussion:
- keep code at -Wall level warning free minimal
- use real tabs, no spaces
- old blender code is based on SGI conventions, and the irix tool 'cb'
(c beautifier)
- still, we need someone to reword the old NaN conventions doc, and put
that on the maillist for verification.
For now I just add this general rule:
-> use the code style to match the one used, when you work in existing
C/C++ files.
